We started Akkio with a simple observation: building AI-powered automation is still way too hard.
Despite all the advances in large language models and AI capabilities, actually deploying an autonomous agent that can handle real work—making phone calls, processing refunds, updating tickets, sending emails—requires stitching together a dozen different tools, writing glue code, and hoping nothing breaks.
What We're Building
Akkio is an AI automation platform that lets you build autonomous agents using natural language. Describe what you want your agent to do, connect your tools, and let it run.
Our key principles:
- Zero-config integrations: Connect to your tools with OAuth. No API keys, no webhooks to configure, no code to write.
- Natural language workflows: Describe your automation in plain English. The agent figures out the steps.
- Human-in-the-loop: For critical actions, agents pause and ask for approval. You stay in control.
- Real-time observability: See exactly what your agent is doing, step by step, in real time.
Why Now?
The AI models have finally gotten good enough. GPT-4, Claude, and other frontier models can now reliably reason through multi-step tasks, understand context, and make decisions. The missing piece was the infrastructure to actually deploy these capabilities in production.
That's what we're building.
