Getting Started

Build your first agent

Akkio lets you create autonomous AI agents using natural language. No code required. This guide will have you up and running in under 5 minutes.

What is an Agent?

An Agent is an autonomous workflow that executes actions on your behalf. Think of it as a digital assistant that follows a set of instructions you define in plain English.

Example Agent Prompt

"Every Monday at 9 AM, check my Linear inbox for new issues assigned to me and post a summary to #engineering in Slack."

Trigger

What starts the agent. Either a schedule (cron) or an external webhook.

Workflow Steps

The sequence of actions the agent performs—send a message, create an issue, etc.

Integrations

The services your agent connects to—Slack, GitHub, Gmail, and 20+ more.

Prerequisites

An Akkio account (sign up free at akkio.io)
At least one integration connected (we recommend starting with Slack)

Creating Your First Agent

1

Navigate to Agents

From your dashboard, click Agents in the sidebar, then click the + New Agent button.

2

Describe your automation

You'll be greeted by an AI chat interface. Simply describe what you want your agent to do in plain English. Be specific about:

  • When it should run (schedule or webhook)
  • What actions it should take
  • Which services to use

"Every day at 9 AM Pacific, send a message to #general in Slack that says Good morning, team! 🌅"

3

Review and confirm

The AI will generate a workflow configuration based on your description. Review the trigger, steps, and actions. If something looks off, just ask the AI to adjust it.

4

Deploy your agent

Click Create Agent to save. Toggle the agent to Active to start execution. Scheduled agents will run automatically; webhook agents will run when triggered.
